THE INSPIRATION – DALBEG BEACH
Dalbeg is a wild and beautiful beach cove on the west coast of The Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, off Scotland. I’m particularly drawn to Dalbeg’s non-conformist personality: beauty with danger; ceaselessly changing sounds and colours; the sand, stones and water channels of the beach constantly remodelling. I love the power of the cove and how it draws you to another place.
Why “Dalbeg” as a business name? Basically I just feel it’s me. In its wildness I find a rugged serenity, and when I’m there I feel a sense of peace I’ve never found anywhere else. Both sides of my family have been rooted in the Outer Hebrides for generations; and although so far I’ve never had the luck to live there, it’s always been home to my soul.
